Founded in 1976 by Dean Zelinsky who was only around 17 years old. When first starting out the range was very small. There was the V, a resemblance of the Gibson 1950's V, a Z based upon the Explorer and the ML a combination of the two previous designs. Through the 1980's the range expanded rapidly and Dean guitars established a huge reputation.
