Guitar & Strings

Guitars and all strung instruments are under constant force from their strings attempting to reshape them. Most modern instruments are fitted with truss rods (a metal bar in the neck) that gives it additional strength and the ability to adjust it with ease. Although stronger these modern still need careful adjustments from time to time.

Higher quality guitars made from “seasoned woods” will stand up to humidity, temperature changes and handling with very little care and attention. As you use lesser quality woods and laminate materials found in your everyday guitars you begin to find that they are effected more and will require more regular setups.

As a recommendation we suggest an annual checkup of your guitar, ukulele, banjo or whichever is your pleasure to keep the action, intonation and playability in check. If you travel or gig regularly then you will benefit from carrying out service work more regularly.

All of our guitars for sell online are checked before being dispatched, some suppliers of instruments do not, so don't be afraid to bring your new guitars in either, sometimes a full setup on an inexpensive guitar can make it play and feel like something much more expensive.

Keyboard & Digital Piano Repairs

Although not as sensitive as real pianos digital keyboards and piano still having moving parts that wear down over time. Keys and dampers are the most common parts we replace so we have an easy pricing system for it. Less common problems include dry circuit boards breaking and speakers becoming disconnected. Our in house piano technician has carried out work on Yamaha, Roland, Casio, Korg many other piano brands for over ten years now. He’s seen it all, including having to vacuum the contents of a can of cola from inside a digital piano and rebuilding an entire keyboard just to rid it of a buzz.

Bigger digital pianos such as Celvianos, Clavinovas and upright and grand style digital pianos also benefit from servicing, after time the dampers will need replacing and dust and other matter can settle inside the keys causing poor contacts. It is worth considering having your digital piano serviced every couple of years to keep it in its best playing shape.

As a Yamaha Tyros stockist and demo centre you will also find our technicians are skilled in Tyros repairs. We have a selection of spare parts for Tyros 1, 2 and 3 and are able to offer repairs on the digital workstation.

Amps & Electronics

Blown a valve? Reverb stopped working? Has the dog eaten the volume control? When fixing electronics it can often be laborious and expensive which is why we offer a fixed price diagnose and repair service. You pay a fixed fee for 30 minutes of time and if we can diagnose the problem in that time and fix it. If not we will give you a quotation for repair or replacement of your amplifier. A high percentage of repairs are completed within this 30 minute window meaning your amp, decks, effect processor or whatever it may be is back in use in no time.

All of our repair work is guaranteed and we will inform you of costs in labour and parts before we go ahead and fix your item.
